TOKICO has been manufacturing automotive shock absorbers, brake parts and hydraulics for more than 65 years. The company continues to be a leader both as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket supplier. Responding to the industry’s demand for a shock absorber that could balance excellent handling stability with a comfortable ride, TOKICO developed the world’s first twin-tube gas shock absorber in the 1970s. Since then, this technology has been continually evolved and dramatically refined, and remains a worldwide standard of performance shock absorber design.
An innovator in automotive suspension technology for more than 65 years, TOKICO is the inventor of the twin-tube shock absorber, and an industry leader in both OEM and aftermarket high-performance suspension solutions.
With its strong OEM roots and leading-edge manufacturing processes, the development of a High Performance division was only natural. So in 1979, TOKICO opened its first aftermarket office in California. Following the tradition of a stringent R&D process, TOKICO designs and engineers all of its High Performance products to be applicationspecific, and most even carry a lifetime limited warranty. It is this dedication and knowledge that has solidified TOKICO as the aftermarket leader in performance shocks and struts.
TOKICO’s global headquarters in Kanagawa, Japan, is home to the company’s product research and development facilities. In Berea, KY, TOKICO’s manufacturing facilities produce quality OEM parts for major auto manufacturers. The office for OEM sales and engineering is located in Allen Park, MI. The TOKICO High Performance sales division is located in the heart of the aftermarket scene, in Los Angeles, CA.
With a steady, ongoing stream of new OEM and High Performance product developments, along with a growing Private Brand business, TOKICO will continue to stand out as a premium-quality leader in the global automotive suspension industry.
